Rip Michels and his Stock
Building Supply/Ladco Racing/Victory Circle Chassis Chevrolet
racing team will be heading to the great state of Colorado to
compete in the “King Soopers Freedom 150” this coming Saturday at
Pikes Peak International Raceway. This will be race number 9 for
the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Southwest Division.
This will be the second and final combined event for the NASCAR
AutoZone Elite Southwest and Mid West Divisions. This weekend’s
race will be the companion race for the NASCAR Bush series. Pikes
Peak is a D-shaped 1 mile oval track. It is a wide track and can
produce three wide racing. It has 10 degrees of banking in the
corners.
The Team:
This will be the first visit for most of the guys on the team. ‘We
are looking forward to going to Pikes Peak,” said Boyd “Chip”
Brown Jr. “With the exception of myself and our team manager, none
of the guys have seen Pikes Peak. So we are looking to learn as
much as we can within a short period of time. I am confident we
will have a good race.”
The Drivers Corner:
This will be Rip’s first visit to Pikes Peak International Raceway.
“I am really looking forward to getting to race on this track,”
said Rip “ I have driven the track on my stepson, Jesse X-box, it
looks like a big, fast 1 mile track. We look forward to this new
challenge.”
The Car: Fiona
This car has had two starts in its short career. With finishes of
42nd and a 3rd place finish at Irwindale Speedway back on June 18,
2005. This car was built for the fast ˝ mile and above tracks.
The Road That Leads To The Showdown:
The Invitational Only Toyota All-Star Showdown is a race that
brings together the Top Ten in points at season end, from each of
the four Elite divisions of NASCAR from across the country. The
top 40 teams will compete against each other in a nationally
televised race from Irwindale Speedway, in the chase for the
exclusive invitational only race that will be held on November 10,
2005 at Irwindale Speedway. Rip Michels currently sits 10th in the
points, 306 points behind first, and 72 points in front of 11th.
The Race:
Look for the #12 Stock Building Supply/Ladco Racing/Victory Circle
Chassis this coming weekend at the one-mile super speedway of
Pikes Peak International Raceway in Colorado Spring, Colorado.
Racing begins at 10:30AM on Saturday.

displaying the Stock Building Supply Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
