Race Cars and Rip Michels team up for the 2002 season at IS |

- Rip Michels with car owner Lee Ladd will be campaigning an all new 2002
Jackson Race Cars chassis at Irwindale Speedway. Jackson racecars in Palmdale, CA. is one
of the premier car builders on the west coast building late model, super late model and
tour cars for over 25 years.
The teams tentative schedule will be to compete in all of the Irwindale
Speedway super late model races contending for regional and track championship honors, but
will included a few races in Bakersfield and Las Vegas. March 16th, 2002 at

Speedway will
be the debut for Rip and the new Jackson Race Car
Rip will be driving one of the Jacksons newest designs. " The car
is awesome, it just came off the fixture last week and Norris fiberglass is making a 2002
Monte Carlo body for it". Said Rip. |
This car will
also feature the new Outlaw brakes wide 5 hubs, calipers and rotors. "I am really
looking forward to getting this car on the track, its going to be a bullet", said
Rip.
Rip is the 2000 Grand American Modified Champion at Irwindale Speedway and is
2nd in all time wins at the speedway with 18. The 2001 season was Rips rookie year
in super late models and he had 1 main event win, 3 dash wins, 3 fast times and the only
driver to qualify in the 17s with a lap of 17.99. " Rip is one of the best
drivers on the west coast and Im glad he is driving one of our cars." Said Dave
Jackson.
2002 will be the first year that Rip will driving a chassis not built by
himself. " After talking to Dave, Matt and Tony and seeing the new chassis, I knew
this was the best move I could make for the 2002 season." Said Rip. The photos
on the wall at his shop are what hooked me." said Rip "Dan Press, Ron Hornaday,
Jim Thrikittle and Jimmy Insolo have all won in Jacksons cars and I want to be the
