Michels the 2000 grand american modified champion at Irwindale Speedway will be piloting a
brand new super late model for owner Lee Ladd. The teams tentative schedule will comprise
of the entire Irwindale super late model schedule competing for rookie of the year and
championship honors.
Pick Your Part Auto Wrecking is a self service auto recycler in
California with 9 wrecking yards statewide. Michels will join Greg Benner #26 super stock
and John Watkinson #98 grand american modified as part of the 2001 Pick Your Part lineup.

Rip’s 2000 Monte Carlo paint scheme will be primarily orange with the Pick Your Part
logo and a gray octopus named "Yermo"on the hood and quarter panels. "I
have raced orange cars for years and I can’t wait bring it out, it will really look
sharp" said Michels
Michels having won 2 championships and over 25 feature events in the
modifieds will be the top rookie contender. Michels is also the winningest driver in
Irwindales 2 year history. "This is a big step for us, but with the help of Lee, Pick
Your Part and the rest of my sponsors we should be in great shape for 2001,"said Rip.
