Ripper wins third in a row at Irwindale Speedway!
Rip Michels driver of the Cardservice International/Ladco Racing
#12 Grand American Modified won his third main event in a row at Irwindale Speedway
Saturday night . Rip set fast time with a lap of 18.44. He started 5th in the main event
and by lap 2 he moved up to third place. Then on lap three he was already in second place.
On lap 7 Rip made his move on the leader, wheel to wheel for two laps to take over the
lead and drove away for the victory.
In the four nights of modified racing this year, Rip has totally dominated
the division, not just by winning but winning by many cars lengths.
He now has 3 main event wins, 2 dash wins, 1 fast time and is now leading the
points. "Our car has been so hooked up, it seems as though all our offseason work is
paying off," said Rip.
If not for the blown motor on opening night with one lap remaining, Rip would
have 4 main event wins in a row . CMC racing engines stepped up and helped Rip get a motor
back together. "Ed and Roger build a great motor with reliable horsepower," said
Rip.
"I have great people who support my racing," said Rip. "The
whole Ladco Racing team has been such an amazing experience. We have 3 teams working
together as one and with the help of Lee and Brians crews being at the track it
makes us a strong team."
"Rip is one of the smartest chassis set-up drivers I know and prepares
his car well for every race", says Brian his teammate and driver of the #77 SLM.
Rip would like to give special thanks to all his 2000 sponsors:
Cardservice International, Ladco Racing, Memory Lane,
CMC Racing Engines, BCsportsimages.com, Stick Only, Hoopers Rear Ends, KSR, and
Viking Special Effects.
Look for Rip #12 GAM and Brian #77 SLM this Saturday night June 10th at Irwindale
Speedway.
Look forward to seeing your there!
